From Concept to Installation: A Full Service Window Treatment Project with Motorization

Motorized window treatments deliver convenience and luxury, but achieving a seamless result requires careful planning from the very beginning. On this whole-house project designed by Kris Betts of Kris Betts Designs, collaboration started early in the construction process, allowing every detail, from hardwiring to fabrication and installation, to be thoughtfully coordinated. By working together every step of the way, the finished treatments became a fully integrated part of the home rather than an afterthought.

Why Early Collaboration Matters

By being brought into the project during the early stages of the build, we were able to coordinate hardwiring for the motorized systems before walls were finished. This early planning ensured the homeowners had access to every option available, including fully integrated automation without the need for battery solutions which require ongoing recharging or battery changes. Addressing these details upfront created a cleaner, more seamless final result while also allowing greater flexibility throughout the design process.

Planning ahead makes all the difference. Early coordination during construction allowed hardwiring to be seamlessly integrated behind the scenes, resulting in clean, fully motorized window treatments that feel effortless in the finished space.

Seamlessly Integrated Motorization

The project included both motorized drapery panels and motorized shades throughout the home. In areas featuring motorized panels, the hardware was carefully concealed behind decorative trim, preserving the elegance of the space while maintaining full functionality. This approach allowed the technology to remain virtually invisible, keeping the focus on the finished design rather than the mechanics behind it.

Layering Function and Design

Motorized roller shades provided convenient light control and privacy while maintaining a clean architectural appearance. Decorative stationary panels were incorporated to add softness, texture, and visual balance. When brought together, these treatments created a layered and cohesive design that complemented the architecture and interior furnishings.

Decorative stationary panels add softness and texture, while the motorized roller shade disappears almost entirely when raised, preserving the clean architectural lines of the space without sacrificing functionality.

Collaboration Every Step of the Way

Throughout the entire project, we worked closely alongside Kris Betts to ensure every detail aligned with the overall design vision. From early consultations and planning to fabrication and final installation, collaboration remained central to the process. This level of coordination helped streamline decision-making, avoid costly surprises, and ensure each treatment functioned exactly as intended.

A Fully Integrated Final Result

Full-service projects like this demonstrate the value of involving a workroom early in the process. Thoughtful planning, expert fabrication, and professional installation all contribute to a finished result that feels intentional, polished, and fully integrated into the home.

Thoughtful motorization allows each space to balance beauty and function effortlessly. From sleek motorized roller shades to tailored stationary panels, every treatment was thoughtfully designed to complement the architecture while providing seamless everyday operation.
